The
Mogul's Empires
(India)
divided into its principal Governments.
Anonymous. 1767. |
|
Sheet Size: 264 x 208 (10.3" x 8.1")
Map Size: 236 x 196 (9.2" x 7.7")
This map
was published
in Gentlemen's
Magazine in 1767. It
is Printed on
heavy wove paper. There
are three horizontal
folds, which are now
barely noticeable. It
seems the map has been
opened up and laying
flat for quite some
time. The map
is clean and bright and
free of foxing or tears.
This map
includes the cities of Lahor, Delly, Cochin,
Dacca, Pondicherry, Goa,
Bombay, Madras, Agra,
and Hydrabad. The
regions of Indostan,
Bengal, Great Tibet,
Pitan, Guzarat, Deckan,
Golconda, Orixa, Siba,
Bahar and Avapegu are
identified, as is the
River Ganges. |

Inde en deca et au dela du Gange.
Alexandre-Emile Lapie. 1816. |
|
Sheet Size: 322 x 249 (12.6" x
9.7") Map Size:
292 x 219 (11.4" x
8.6")
This finely engraged and
hand-colored map is in
excellent condition. The
heavy paper is a lovely
cream-color and the
entire map and the
margins are free of any
soiling or foxing
whatsoever. There are no
folds, making it ideal
for framing. Note that
'1833' and '1830' are
marked on the back of
the map in pencil;
however, thanks to some
online research, I am
quite confident that it
was actually made in
1816. |
